DBBWC had a great time volunteering at the Special Olympics Shot Put event this past weekend. We would like to congratulate all the participating athletes!
The purpose of the Special Olympics is to empower children and adults with intellectual disabilities to live healthy, fulfilling, and meaningful lives to the fullest extent of their ability through the power of sports. Through events like the Spring Games, athletes have opportunities to compete, develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and most of all, the community.
